St. Francis County Detention Center is located at 2124 South Washington in Forrest City, Arkansas. The Jail is under the supervision of Capt. Gage Melton, Jail Administrator.

Our detention center is a long-term holding facility. It was designed to house 144 inmates. The jail can house 20 females, 124 adult males. We hold Arkansas State prison inmates that are waiting on bed space, as well as Federal Inmates awaiting extradition to different states.

Our Detention facility participates in a work release program, which allows misdemeanor charged inmates, to work off their fines by cleaning roadways in the county. We are one of only twenty-three locations statewide to have the AFIS (Automated Fingerprint Identification System). Our booking system is connected to the V.I.N.E. program.

The Detention Center is open 7 days a week from 8am to 8pm for video visitation, as well as putting money on inmates' books for ordering commissary.
