Sister Charged with Setting House on Fire with her Deceased Sister Inside

On January 3, 2024, the St. Francis County Sheriff Department along with the New Castle Fire Department and the Forrest City Fire Department responded to a house fire at 133 SFC 353 which is in the New Castle Community.  A badly burned body was discovered inside the residence.  Investigators arrived on scene and learned that Sheila Rawlison lived at the residence with her sister Linda Brewer and was present when the fire started.  Rawlison was arrested that day and charged with Arson after admitting to investigators to setting the house on fire after discovering her sister was already deceased.  The Arkansas Crime Lab identified the body as that of Linda Brewer and concluded that Brewer was already deceased at the time of the fire.  Sheila Rawlison 65-years-old of Forrest City is charged today with Abuse of a Corpse a Class C Felony, where she was arraigned today in SFC District Court, and her bond was set at $100,000 dollars.
