Juror scams have been reported here in St Francis County, where victims are falsely being told they missed jury duty and must pay a fine or face arrest. The caller told one unsuspecting victim that they were with a Sheriff’s Department and provided a name and phone number and how much money was owed as a fine for missing jury duty.

Callers posing as deputy sheriffs are demanding payment of a fine to be paid over the phone, even though victims never received a jury summons.

No law enforcement agencies or courts conduct business in this manner.
