Church Theft

On April 29, 2026, a deputy with the St. Francis County Sheriff's Department responded to a reported theft at the New Hebron Baptist Church, located on County Road 409 just off Highway 284.

The church's pastor reported that sometime during the overnight hours, an unknown person or persons removed and stole the entire Woodruff Electric meter and electrical panel from the exterior of the building. Authorities noted that no forced entry was made into the church itself, indicating the suspects specifically targeted the electric meter, which contains copper wiring.

The Sheriff's Department says thefts of copper and electrical equipment have become increasingly common in the area and is asking for the public's assistance in identifying those responsible.
