Inmate Sets Fire Inside Detention Center

Tiara Odessa Terry, 32-years-old of Forrest City now faces new felony charges for setting the SFC Detention Center on fire Friday afternoon. Tiara was originally arrested on October 22, 2025 by Forrest City Police Department officers on misdemeanor warrants that were issued out of SFC District Court and while she was being booked in she became extremely combative and began to fight with the officer and the jail staff. For that incident Tiara was charged with Battery 2nd Degree a Class D Felony and her bond was set at $75,000. During her short time in jail she has been aggressive at times towards the jail staff and for that reason she was being held in one of our isolation cells. On Friday October 24, 2025, at approximately 12:13PM Tiara set her bedding sheets and mattress on fire, which started as a small fire but quickly grew which caused heavy smoke to fill her cell and other parts of the jail . Tiara was quickly removed from her cell and placed at another area inside the jail. The Forrest City Fire Department was notified and quickly responded along with the Forrest City Police Department. Through the quick action of the jail staff the fire was contained to the one cell but smoke filled the hallways and certain housing PODS and those inmates were quickly moved to a different area inside the jail. The Forrest City Fire Department did an outstanding job arriving so quickly and ventilating the smoke from the building. One inmate who suffered from asthma did report breathing problems, he was accessed by our staff nurse and out of precaution he was transported to Forrest City Medical Center and he has since been released. Later that evening the jailers went down to Tiara cell and when they opened the cell door she attempted to run out and began to fight with the jailers. During the fight Tiara bit two of the jailers on the hand. They were able to get Tiara back under control and place her back into her cell. Both jailers did go to FC Medical Center for treatment. Tiara Terry is charged with Arson, a Class B Felony, (100) counts of Criminal Attempt 2nd Degree Murder a Class B Felony, Impairing the Operation of a Vital Public Facility, a Class C Felony and Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer or Employee of a Correctional Facility. Tiara Terry appeared before the judge today by video and her bond was set a $500,000 dollars.
