Person Charged with Bringing Drugs in Detention Center

Sheronda Lavette Davis, 40-year-old of Hughes, AR. is currently charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Meth a Class D Felony and Furnishing Prohibited Articles, a Class C Felony.  On Sunday, deputies responded to a disturbance on Mary Street in Hughes, AR. involving Davis where she was outside a residence hollering and cussing.  Davis was arrested for Violation of a Protective Order and Public Intoxication and transported to the SFC Detention Center.  Once at the jail it was discovered that Davis had cancelled a small envelop under her clothing.  The substance inside the envelope field tested positive for methamphetamine.  Davis is scheduled to be arraigned today in SFC District Court where a bond will be set in her case.  Davis is currently on probation for a felony drug charge from back in 2022 where she received a three-year probation sentence.
