Police Arrest Man for Breaking into a Camper
On Monday September 8, 2025, deputies arrested 25 year-old Richard C. Barnes at a residence here in Forrest City without incident. Barnes was wanted in connection to a August 27, 2025, burglary where he was identified as the person breaking into a camper on county road 718. The victim reported that he received a phone call of someone breaking into his camper and when he arrived he observed a green Oldsmobile parked next to the camper and he then saw Barnes was coming out of camper. When the victim tried to retrieve the backpack from Barnes, he then jumped into the Oldsmobile drive by a white female and took off. Prior to Barnes leaving the victim was able to take a photograph of Barnes and provided that to investigators. The victim reported that the camper door had been damaged after the hasp and lock were cut. The victim also provided a list of several items that was taken during the burglary that were valued over $1,000 dollars. Richard Barnes appeared before a judge today for the charges of Residential Burglary, a Class B Felony and Theft of Property Over $1,000 dollars, a Class D Felony where his bond was set at $25,000 dollars.
