Two men Facing Drug Charges

On Saturday night a St. Francis County Deputy was on patrol when he came upon a vehicle stopped in the middle of the road on County Road 720, also known as Fletcher Rd. with his lights on .  The deputy stopped to investigate when he came into contact with Richard Barnes the driver and an individual who was standing on the passenger side of the vehicle with the door open.  That individual was identified as Freddie Allen, who is a registered sex offender both of St. Francis County.  At the time Barnes is currently on probation and also had a search waiver on file.  The deputy conducted a search of the vehicle and located two individual bags of a substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine that had a total weight of 7.9 grams inside the vehicle  The deputy also recovered a glass pipe that is commonly used in ingesting the narcotic.  Richard Barnes 57-years-old and Freddie Lee Allen 56-years-old are both charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Methamphetamine a Class C Felony over 2 grams and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia a Class A Misdemeanor.  Both will appear before a judge today and a bond will be set in their case.
