Widener Man Arrested on Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia Charges

On July 19, 2026, deputies with the St. Francis County Sheriff's Office arrested Chester Rolfe Jr., 54, of Widener, Arkansas, on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine Less Than Two Grams) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, both Class D felonies.  Deputies responded to a domestic-related complaint involving Rolfe and his wife. According to the report, Rolfe's wife alleged that while she was following him in her vehicle, he repeatedly applied his brakes, causing her vehicle to collide with his. Deputies were advised that Rolfe was driving a white Chevrolet truck and traveling on County Road 735 toward Highway 334.  A deputy located the vehicle on County Road 735 and conducted a traffic stop after observing that the vehicle's license plate had expired in May 2026. The driver was identified as Chester Rolfe Jr. A records check revealed Rolfe had an outstanding warrant from Lee County for Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons. Authorities also determined that Rolfe was on supervised probation and had a search waiver on file.  During a search of the vehicle, deputies discovered a cigarette package inside the center console that contained a plastic bag with a crystalline substance. The substance field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Deputies also located a glass pipe commonly used to ingest methamphetamine underneath the console. The pipe also contained crystalline residue. Rolfe was taken into custody and transported to the St. Francis County Detention Center. Rolfe later appeared before the court, where his bond was set at $20,000.
