Deputies Respond to Shooting In Palestine

The St. Francis County Sheriff Department responded to a shooting that happened around 6:30pm at the Alcot Apartments in Palestine, Ar. and that the victim had stopped on the side of the road on Highway 70 at the Languille Bridge.  Investigators arrived on the scene and located the victim identified as 19-year-old Tracy Partain of Forrest City suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest.  Partain was airlifted from the scene to Regional One in Memphis, Tn.  Investigators interviewed a witness who was in the car at the time of the shooting and identified Deonta Brown as the shooter.  The witness further reported that she, Partain and a small child who was in the backseat pulled up to the Alcot Apartments when a vehicle pulled up next to them and that's when Brown got out of the car and walked up to their vehicle and shot once through the windshield striking Partain.  The witness reported that Partain then sped off and eventually stopped on Highway 70.  Arrests warrants have been issued for Deonta Brown for Battery 1st Degree, Aggravated Assault 2 Counts, and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor 1st Degree.  Investigators checked on Partain this morning and he is listed in critical condition.  Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Deonta Brown is asked to contact 633-2611.
