Driver in Stolen Car Leads Officers on a Chase

On Sunday evening a deputy attempted to stop a white Dodge Charger for speeding on Highway 70 east of Forrest City when the vehicle fled from the deputy.  The Deputy reported that one of the occupants threw a handgun out the window during the chase.  The chase continued with speeds reaching well over 100 mph.  The chase continued into the city limits of Forrest City where the driver lost control in a neighborhood next to the Forrest City High School.  All three occupants then fled on foot and were eventually apprehended.  Jamarus Ambrose 18-years old of Memphis, Tn. was charged with Theft by Receiving Over $5,000, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Fleeing on Foot.  Ambrose appeared in District Court Monday afternoon and was arraigned.  The other two occupants were both juveniles and they were transported to the Juvenile Detention Center in Jonesboro, Ar.  One juvenile was from Forrest City and the other was from Memphis, Tn. The vehicle was reported stolen on July 15th from a residence in Forrest City.  The Sheriff Department would like to thank the Forrest City Police Department for their assistance with locating the individuals.
