On July 24, 2023, 41-year-old Jason Eugene Lawrence, was arrested at his residence of 111 Village Gate Trailer Park in Forrest City without incident on an outstanding felony warrant for Transmitting Obscene Material to a Child a Class B Felony.  The authorities in Centre, Alabama contacted our investigators about an individual from Forrest City who had been communicating with what he believed to be a 14-year-old girl and sending her explicit images of himself.  During the investigation Lawrence had sent her photographs of jewelry item's that he promised to send in exchange for her sending explicit images for herself to him. Officers executed the search warrant at Lawrence residence where they seized his cell phone and the jewelry that he was going to send. Lawrence admitted to investigators that he knew the girl to be 14-years old while communicating with her and further admitted to sending the images.  Lawrence was convicted in 2018 for Internet Stalking of a Child and received three years' probation and was Classified as a Level-2 Sex Offender on the States Sex Registry.  Lawrence is scheduled to appear before the judge today for his extradition hearing.
