On September 7, 2023, at approximately 2:48 PM deputies responded to a shooting at 599 SFC 215 which is in the Beck Spur Community.  The victims, Dangelo Akins and Trence Rogers both of Forrest City reported that Akins was attempting to move out of the house belonging to his girlfriend 31-year-old Jasmine Hawkins when she pulled out a handgun and fired several times at them.  Both Akins and Rogers were not injured and fled the scene on foot while Hawkins fled the scene in a tan GMC Yukon.  A BOLO was given out on the vehicle, and it was located traveling west on Highway-70 towards Palestine, Ar. Palestine Officers located and stopped the vehicle which pulled into the apartments across from the Palestine Elementary School.  Jasmine Hawkins, the driver was taken into custody without incident.  Investigators recovered a 9mm handgun and ammunition from inside the vehicle along with several spent shell casings at Hawkin's residence.  Hawkins faces two counts of Aggravated Assault; Class D Felony and she is scheduled to be arraigned today.
