On Sunday November 12, 2023, Daviaun Harden, 21-year-old of Hughes Arkansas was arrested yesterday in Hughes AR.  Harden was involved in a shooting incident that occurred back on October 2, 2023, on Maple Street in Hughes.  The incident started off as a verbal dispute which turned physical where two individuals got into a fight and then one individual pulled out a handgun and began shooting.  The victim Derrick Powell was shot multiple times and was transferred to Regional One in Memphis TN and has since been released from the hospital.  Harden is charged with Battery 1st Degree a Class B Felony and Accomplice, a Class D Felony.  He is scheduled to be arraigned today in court.  The case is still under investigation with additional arrests pending.
