On March 27, 2024, at approximately 5:00 PM deputies recovered a stolen 2010 Dodge Charger that was reported stolen earlier that day from a residence in Forrest City.  Deputies received information that the stolen vehicle was traveling down Highway 306 in Colt. A few minutes later they were advised that the vehicle had pulled up to the gas pump at the Jordan's convenience store there in Colt.  Deputies arrived and located the vehicle parked at the gas pump.  They reviewed the store surveillance video and observed that a black male get out of the vehicle and walked around to the back of the store once he saw the deputies and attempted to hide the keys to the car.  Deputies detained a male individual who was identified getting out of the vehicle.  The male was identified as Ricky Samuel Smith 27-years-old of Marianna, AR.  The vehicle was then turned back over to the owner.  Forrest City Police Department is in the process of charging Smith with Theft of Property in connection with stealing the vehicle.
